Triticum Agricolam
So here is a subwoofer design I've been working on for a while. Its a modestly sized 10" sub enclosure that should work well with several different subs. First off, here are some pics: The goals of this system were to get as much performance from a ported 10" sub as possible while keeping the size of the enclosure reasonable. I wanted something that would have good output to the low 20's, but had a narrow enough profile I could hide it easily. Here are the specs of the enclosure: Net volume: 2.0 Cubic feet Tuning: 23 Hz Port Area: 19.7 sq External Dimensions: 12" W x 21.25" H x 24.75" D External Volume: 3.65 Cubic Feet Sub drivers that should work: JBL GTO1014 (This is what I used) Dayton UM10-22 Dayton RSS265HF Infinity 1060W/1062W Here is what it does: This measurement was taken at 10 feet with 6.3 volts of input power and 1/12 octave smoothing. It should be very close to a 1W/1M measurement. If anyone would be interested in building one for themselves it takes a little over 1/2 sheet of 3/4" plywood. The cutlist is as follows: Sides x 2 - 21.25 x 24.75 Top/Bottom x 2 - 10.5 x 24.75 Front x 1 - 10.5 x 17.875 Front doubler x 1 - 10.5 x 17.125 Back x 1 - 10.5 x 19.75 Lower port x 1 - 10.5 x 21.375 Upper port x 1 - 10.5 x 15.375 Braces x 2 - 10.5 x 2 This is the internal layout: The port is 1.875" tall. Here are some pics from the construction of mine: I didn't get a picture of it, but the inside of the box is lined with felt. I rounded over the ends of the port panels and put a 1" roundover on the port mouth.
