baron_of_bass
So my brother is about to be a dad and I'm excited as shit about being an uncle. Both my brother and I have been influenced by bass since our mom was pregnant, so he wanted to keep the tradition going. My nephew will be here in December so he wanted to give both her and the baby some beat. System will be going in a 2007 Honda Pilot. I have gathered all the equipment from sellers here and in other places. He did say he had a budget of around 1k so I went to work. I have some stuff laying around that I don't mind letting him have. equipment: 2 Fi Audio X 12's 1 RF T1000-1BD 2 RF T2 components (well be going passive since she'll never notice the difference) 1 RF T400-4 1 3Sixty.2 Box will be about 3.6 cubes tuned to 34hz. I had some free time today and started on the amp rack. Today pretty much consisted of mocking up the board and making sure it was leveled. Tomorrow I should be able to bed line and paint it the same color as the interior. The amps are in the middle because the xovers for the components will be on the sides. I'm not sure if I want to make a beauty board or if I should just leave it like that. I kind of like when you can see how neat the wiring is. Anyway, I'll post more pictures as I go. baron_of_bass
I was able to get the amp rack painted. I mounted the amps and 2 passive crossovers. I still have 2 more crossovers to mount. I only get a little time a day to work on this. Next, I want to do the big 3, run the power, and do a ground run in the back. baron_of_bass
Got some work done. These pilots suck, the best ground I could find was the one in the pictures. The fact that it's unibody wouldn't let me find a ground below 1.5 ohms. Here are the pics: Team Bass-Hz
Myst_erious
Got some work done. These pilots suck, the best ground I could find was the one in the pictures. The fact that it's unibody wouldn't let me find a ground below 1.5 ohms. Here are the pics: Looks nice and clean. Can't even tell all of that is under there! Tough titty said the kitty when the milk went dry "Anchors aweigh! So what do you think of my little vessel? She's what we call a see-worthy. S-E-E, see with your eyes. I feel like my transport should be an extension of my personality. Voila. And this, this is like my little window to the world, and every minute's a different show. Now I may not understand it. I may not even necessarily agree with it. But I'll tell you what, I accept it and just sort of glide along. You want to keep things on an even keel, I guess is what I'm saying. You want to go with the flow. The sea refuses no river. The idea is to remain in a state of constant departure while always arriving. It saves on introductions and goodbyes. The ride does not require an explanation - just occupants. That's where you guys come in. It's like you come onto this planet with a crayon box. Now you may get the eight-pack, you may get the sixteen-pack, but it's all in what you do with the crayons, the colors, that you're given. And don't worry about drawing within the lines or coloring outside the lines. I say color outside the lines, you know what I mean? Color right off the page. Don't box me in! We're in motion to the ocean. We are not land-locked, I'll tell you that. So where do you want out?" ~Waking Life
baron_of_bass
Thanks, I'm trying really hard to keep it stealthy. Running the power wire was a bit of a pain in the ass. I ordered some tech flex so I can put all the rcas in one sleeve. Hopefully it gets here Monday. I was thinking about going subs up port up but I might switch the port up so it fires back. It would still be the same demensions and tuning just firing back instead of up. Team Bass-Hz

Jeff4661
Curious to see how those x's do may use them in a build in the future Current build 05 Yukon SLT http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/195350-jeffs-05-yukong-wall-build/
baron_of_bass
Curious to see how those x's do may use them in a build in the future I honestly feel that it's probably the best budget sub there is. My brother wanted sundown 8s, but I convinced him to get these. They are cheaper, have a 3in coil, and they are made in merica. I'm building the box for them tomorrow, so I guess we will find out then. Team Bass-Hz
baron_of_bass
Fast forward to today, the 360.2 is installed, had to cut the doors and make spacers so the 6.5inch rf t2 mids would fit in the doors. Unfortunately I didn't get pics but I'll get some on Saturday when I set the gains and adjust frequencies on the 360.2. Box is about 3.9 cubes after displacement tuned to 34hz. I'll sand and bedline the box this weekend. Eventually it will get vinyl wrapped but the bedliner will do for a bit. I hooked everything up and it sounds pretty nice for 1000 watts. I can't wait to tune the amps and set the gains this weekend. Team Bass-Hz
