wizart383 Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 I was talking to a buddy and he mentioned to me that he uses RG6 cable to make his own RCA cables. Have you guys ever used it before just wondering on your guys opinion on using RG6 to make RCA wires.
Stephen13 Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 I have but only for my home stereo equipment. It's fairly stiff cable (even RG-59) so it's hard to make bends in tight spaces. The compression RCA connectors tend to be a bit long so if you have a pair of components (amps, X-over, processor, etc.) mounted too close together it's difficult to make the cable connections between them. I have yet to see right angled compression RCA connectors so that hasn't been an option. 2011 Chevy Silverado LT 5.3L 4x4 Ext.-cab "Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think."
Skullz Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 Way too stiff to be a viable solution to ready made patch cords. As long as you get a shielded set of rca's you'll have no issues at all, just find some inexpensive ones and go with them. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
