realsoundillusion Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Hi All, Just need advise, will the below box design work for my application. Any advise is welcome. Remember I'm new to this low frequency building, have gained a lot of experience with SPL over the past few months. Thanks to those that have questioned, guided and given constructive critism. Ok so here it goes I'm open to ideas as well. Driver Properties Name: SA Type: Standard one-way driver Company: Sundown Audio Serial No: SA12 No. of Drivers = 2 Mounting = Standard Wiring = Parallel Dual voice coils = separate Fs = 33.71 Hz Qms = 0.52 Vas = 21.21 liters Xmax = 30 mm Sd = 13.71 sq.cm Qes = 0.58 Re = 4.57 ohms Le = 3.4 mH Z = 5.484 ohms Pe = 600 watts-----------------------------------------Box Properties Name: Type: Vented Box Shape: Prism, square Vb = 139.6 liters Fb = 37.13 Hz F3 = 35.45 Hz Fill = minimal No. of Vents = 2 Vent shape = round Vent ends = two flared Dv = 120 mm Lv = 250 mm Will this work????
Joe X Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 That's 2.5 cubic feet net per driver, it will play peaky and will have reduced mechanical power handling, the two 4 3/4" ports should work as long as you can get them that size and with flares, or you make flares to them. Also it will get loud but SPL like for competing maybe or maybe not, it depends on the vehicle. Lastly it's not only specs, the vehicle and layout of the box counts, try to give more details.
realsoundillusion Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Thanks Joe X, woofers will be firing up, ports up. Vehicle has STP throughtout and box will be mounted in the trunk. The vehicle's a hatch with be running it off SVC-3000D. woofers are SA 12's (love these woofers to the max). two battery's XS POwer d3400's 0Guage power cable with dual runs from the rear battery to both terminals about 600cm from amp. Alpine 117bt head unit. When you say peaky are you refering to the fact they will be limited to amount of power? Thanks for the advise really appreciate it.
