Kade
I'd say I'm more of a musician than I am a car audio enthusiast. Mesa Boogie just came out with some new cabinets featuring their "Tri-Port" design. http://youtu.be/lxojJXBWJmQ I don't think I've seen a cab like this in the car audio field. Can anyone explain the science behind this design? Would it work in a car? What are the differences between the 2 types? Besides the fact that a car sub is used for HiFi reproduction. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. Triticum Agricolam
From a acoustical performance perspective, the "Tri-port" design isn't going to do anything differently than a regular ported cabinet will. However it will help make the cabinet stronger and is an efficient use of space, like they said in the video. Shenker
The only way it would make a difference in sound is if it was setup like a 6th order with one ported section separated from the other. this is just acting like multiple ports, like some do with aero ports. -If its loud, fast, outrageous, or all of the above, chances are i'll think its awesome. -"No way he's OCD." -said none of the people that know me ever. 04' Suburban "Lucifer" A.K.A #Lucii (Under Construction) 4 10s on 4kW in 6cu net @~28hz /////Alpine Crescendo KnuKoncepts Optima SHCA Build Thread 92' JDM 325i "Stella" ~Going for sale to build a 350+hp E30~ Gutted pipes 96,000 OG KM's (59,000 mi) -System Removed- 1 10 on 1kW 89' Gen 3 Honda Prelude SI AWS "Odis" Bone Stock Possibly going to stance it
