Enclosure modifying

I have a enclosuer like the one in the link below but I would prefer to have the port on a different side than the sub (sub up port back)

if I were to plug the hole on the front of the box and cut a hole in the top would that mess with the tuning sound quality ect

Yes I know it depends on the enclosure and sub and blah blah blah but in general could it work

This would be a temp solution untile I decide exactly how I wana build the permenant box

I do believe you would be fine. As long as the hole is the exact same. Now depending on your car and if your port wad firing at something or not your sound will change.

So you want to move the sub from the front to the top? If so, that should work, as long as there is enough space in front of the port for the sub to fit. Make sure you get the existing sub cutout sealed up well. Any leaks will destroy the performance of the box.
