tuckintaco93 Posted October 28, 2015 Author Report Posted October 28, 2015 well just scored some 6" pvc thin wall from lowes they were throwing it away , the box is wedge h 20 w 37.75 d 1 13" d 2 23 no room on sides tight fit , this is kinda a temp setup cause i want to wall it with my 18's just dont have the time atm, so with this 6" pipe what can i do , i have 2 2ft sections of 6" pipe , not going for numbers just ground pounder daily
Triticum Agricolam Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 Well a 6" round port has just over 28" sq in of port area, so you really should use at least three of them, and even then you will be a tad on the low side for port area. With three ports they will need to be around 38" long to tune you to 30 Hz. You are probably going to have a hard time fitting that in your box, even if you had enough pipe to do it. I don't really know what to tell you. You could just use the two you have, at 24" long with two they should tune you to right around 30 Hz, but you are WAY low on port area. For comparison purposes, Sundown recommends 112 sq in of port area for their 18" subs and with two 6" ports you will be at exactly half that. Its up to you decide how much effort you want to put into this box to do things right. I had a box for two 18s that was 13.5cubes with 4 6" areos that were full length so like 16" long each and that box slammed and had great bandwidth. So I would just do 7cubes with two 6" areos for a single 18 c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music 2 crossfire 8k 4 NSV3 18s 4 crescendo 10s 4 Rockford pro 6.5s Quad excessive amperage 350alts 4 juicebox 3100s

I'm not sure what 2 18's you are referring to. So do you already have this 7 cube box you are trying to put the port into? Or are you going to build a box that is 7 cubes?
