kindofanoob
Just finished installing a Kenwood KAC-500.1PS and two Infinity 1062Ws 500 watts @ 2ohm load. It sounds great but I am having issues when I try to get the volume up of the amp either cutting out altogether or cutting down to a very low volume. I have the gain down very low - about 25%. I think it might be my ground as it was very difficult to find a solid spot to ground out too that wasn't plastic (so much plastic in my car) and unpainted. Never really had this problem before and I am a little new to this, but not unexperienced. Definitely an amateur though - any help would be appreciated. kindofanoob
am I right as to thinking that could be the cause though? - When it hits hard the amp doesn't turn off but the power light does start flickering some and the volume drops. I don't think its an overdraw of power because its only 500 rms
Wasteland_Audio
I would say its either a bad ground or you have a very weak battery. i would find a nice solid grounding spot and make sure you sand it all the way down to bare metal before you bolt it down. If that doesn't work then you're having issues somewhere else with the electrical and will have to troubleshoot it.
