Rockford Fosgate Power T3 19" Sub - 8ft3 ported box build - 30hz - Acrylic Window (new video Page 9)!

I got this 19" sub back in May. I thought i was getting 2 of them, and i probably still will. Anyhow, it's been sitting in the shop like a centerpiece ever since. I started to build a complicated box for it a few months ago with a few different bends. Using 1" MDF is a little tricky to do that. I had one of my bends PERFECT but my 2nd bend cracked the wood. I got mad and shelved the project because that was a LOT of kerf cuts! To do what i was doing it was anyway.

Fast forward to last night. After getting to know my CNC for the last week i decided to go ahead and whip up a box for it. I used the manufacture's specs which is 8 cubes ported. It should be tuned to 30hz. I will verify with an SMD IM-SG later of course. But regardless, i spent a few hours last night designing and making my cut sheets. This morning when i got to the shop, i tossed the MDF on the table and got started.

THIS BOX IS NOT DONE YET. SO GIVE A BROTHA A BREAK. Let me finish it before you judge it. Nothing too special, just a ported box, but a BIG ONE!!

again, it is NOT done!!! I am going to put a fat round-over on the inner port 90 and also on the entire outside. The box is extended past the front baffle because i want to put a screen on it. If it sounds good with the temporary wooden top, i will replace it with 1" clear acrylic. Or at least a window of some sort.

but please, i am not finished yet so don't tell me what you would do because i don't care. To put it bluntly. lol

Oh and that CNC cuts that 1" MDF like butter with the new 3/8" spiral from Mobile Solutions It was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE to make this box haha!!!

so, how much sanding is there after the cnc work? does it make that clean of cuts in mdf. cause that is amazing if it does.

i cut the 45's on the table saw but other than that, yes the cuts are fucking sweet. I am in heaven. It really makes it fun to build boxes again

for anyone wondering. The woofer is countersunk 3/4". I took the 1" board down to 1/4". Being on the CNC, it lined up very well with the actual cutout baffle. So the sub is actually mounted on 1 1/4" MDF when its all done.

So much want, I've been drewling over this subwoofer since I first saw it months ago. Cant wait to see a video of it in action.
