alaskanzx5 Posted December 7, 2015 Report Posted December 7, 2015 getting ready to drop in my singer 250 amp alt with an external voltage regulator. all purchased straight from singer and he did build it to be externally regulated. my question since it is adjustable I want to make sure I can watch the voltage. I have a smd volt meter already. where should I hook the volt sense wire to however? I'm thinking right to the positive post coming off the alt. the post that the pos wire connects to that runs to the battery. figured I need to be watching the voltage coming from the alt. eventually I'll be putting a second volt meter on that will be ran to my extra battery(s) that will go in the spare tire location. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
alaskanzx5 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Report Posted December 8, 2015 so anyone have experience hooking up a volt meter to watch voltage with an adjustable external voltage regulator? I have all my wires ran except for the volt meter. just want to make sure I'm watching my voltage at the right source for an external regulator. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
