i have a 2013 jeep grand cherokee with the 9 speaker upgrade and stock 430n navigation system, i was told the stock headunit has a built in dsp . I want to keep the stock unit and add a 4 channel amp to power my door speakers with the tweeters then another amp for my 2 12s. I was looking into line out converters but someone told me DSP are much better. So with that said what do you recommend for $300-325 tops and why should i go with a dsp over loc?

id buy a ppi, soundstream or fosgate dsp, they all use the Mini dsp brand boards, the fosgate has a litle more functionality.

your best bet would be to find out if your head unit puts out a full range uncompressed unfiltered signal to the amp. If so you could can take that stereo signal and have a way better overall sound than to try to converge all the signals into one.

I was told that my stock hu has built in dsp and that is not good. At certain bass frequencies the volume lowers or w.e they say. but on the jeep forums they say to use a dsp like audion ten bit or ms8, something that flatens the signal from the eq. But the installer who is doing my work owns smd crossover meters all that stuff so shouldnt be beable to get the eq right even if i got a audioque dsp? People are saying i should start with a flat signal but if the installer is good cant he do them?

You should start with a flat signal absolutely, if your dsp has 6 or more high level inputs its designed to do that.. I say get the soundstream or ppi great bang for your buck. If you have a lil more bread get the 360 has bluetooth so you can use your phone for dial in!

If you're at "300-325 tops" work alittle OT or wait til income tax time and get the Bit10. I've seen them for $370 on Ebay.

Not knocking the Harmony or PPI in any way. I think they sell for $250 online.

Just saying if your almost there price wise get the real McCoy and not the carbon copy.

I looked into the 3Sixty.3 but man they are pricey even for my wallet!

keep in mind the internals of the 360 and the ppi, soundstream, etc are all made by a company called mini DSP. most differences are in software and bluetooth non bluetooth.
