erwindmac Posted December 25, 2015 Report Posted December 25, 2015 I just bought me a pioneer deh-80prs head unit for the 3 way active feature and the 16 band eq along with the time alignment feature. but with christmas being tomorrow i only had time to install the unit in passive mode off a 2 channel amp for my 2 way component speakers and another 2 channel amp for my single 10 inch sub. now my question is i was looking at the auto time alignment feature and wanted to ask should i set my crossover settings on both my amp's to full before i do the auto time alignment ?

MADVIBES Posted December 25, 2015 Report Posted December 25, 2015 set your amps to flat dont engage your crossovers, the point of the auto tune/time alignment is to create a proper sound stage as well as create a flat response at the listening postion, if you have your hi pass set on your high amp the deck will try to boost the lows to create the flat response, I would set the amp to full range run your test then engage your crossovers.
