Picked one up on a Cyber Monday deal for $331 a few months ago. The birth sheet that came with mine showed 2099w for 1 OHM @ 14.4v on the certified test. Definitely an under rated amplifier.

If he wants to save a little more and get a really solid amp, the Ampere Audio 2K on SSA's website is an excellent deal for $450.

I really love SoundQubed products, but after watching a dyno on the SQ2200 and it only doing 1200w on the certified 1OHM test around 13v, it didn't look too great. Even with the test being 1v under rated, it was still way too low.
