BigHOUSTON Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 I've seen a lot of mixed answers on this across the interwebs. From what I've seen people say you fuse to the wire size. That doesn't sound right to me. I have 1 run of ofc running to the back. Skyhigh sent a 400amp fuse with their kit. Amps says if requires at least a 200 amp fuse (crescendo 2k). I feel like a 400 is overkill. Running fairly stock electrical, d3400 up front and a stock 150amp alternator. Might get a H/O in the future.
reedal Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 If you ordered directly from the sky high site, then you should have selected what size fuse to come with the amp kit. If not, well, fuses are pretty cheap. For proper fusing, fuse to what your amp(s) require/recommend. There was not an option for fuse size when ordering a wiring kit on skyhighs website. unless you choose to purchase a fuse, there you can choose size.
reedal Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Must have lost that option when the site was updated. It used to be that way. But like I said, fuses are cheap. Hell if you email him and tell him you received a 400A but only need a 200A he may even just send one to you. Worth a shot.
