Cdyngl Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 Running 3 mtx t812s on a rockford 1500bdcp @ 1.3ohm. Also a punch 600 for my mids n highs. Big 3 done 0 gauge everywhere with dual batteries. In an 09 silverado. Had same box design im planning on using now in a blazer before with the same equipment except my blazer had less electrical. 4th order with 5ft3 sealed and 9ft3 ported @48 hz. It was what I wanted and I want it to play the same. Great with the lower notes. Does slightly lack the higher end but that may be from my electrical before. A)Will I need to changs my boxes internal volume to suit my truck? Or will it be better because of a smaller cab for the vehicle? B)Port up??? And can I keep the same size port in the new vehicle? It was a 11.75 square port before I'm planning on either a aeroport or a 16 X 8.625 both tuned to 48 or so. Any suggestions? C)What may I be missing before I start building? Thanks!

You will probably get more low end boost due to the greater cabin gain you will get from the smaller cab of the truck. For trucks either port up or port to the side generally work well. In either case you want to port to be near the perimeter of the vehicle to reduce cancellation from reflections. Cdyngl Posted March 17, 2016 Author Report Posted March 17, 2016 Thank u @Triticum Agricolam!! So if I have my port up it will be about level with my headrest, 8 inches to a foot from the ceiling. If I port to the side it would be about 2 or 3 inches from my left rear door (seems too little but idk). Would both work??? I've been leaning towards my port being headrest level facing up.

Just easiest measurements for my vehicle and in general around that range. 23x35.5x38 n some change total. Port up. For the finish on the enclosure, does bed liner work well on birch plywood?? Or would one recommend a few dark layers of stain? Haven't decided yet

Bandpass box ratios really are meaningless though. For box finish, I'm sure bedliner would work fine. I use a product called Duratex a lot, its very similar to bedliner and its very nice to work with. You can get it at Parts Express.
