Best way to interface with a 2013 Civic EX?

Going to end up picking up a 13' Civic EX for my kid. Since I will use the car too I gotta have at least the low end covered! What's the best way to patch into the system that's in there to grab audio signal?

I've seen some units now that trace audio output and also use that as a remote turn on trip as well.

Single sealed sub going in on less than 1k.

What are your thoughts?
