BMS Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 On the graph most frequencies are graphed well below the 0 db line. the only points it doesn't is on it's peak. other subs peaks tend to be way above 0 db and a small range dips below the 0db line. is the graph meant to be taken for relativity? example the peak is 6 db higher than the average frequency on 2 different subs but one has -3 db most frequencies with 3 db peak and the other has 0 db most frequencies and 6 db peak, is one significantly better. do i need to change my box design?
Triticum Agricolam Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 When you are looking at the "Transfer function magnitude" graph its really just showing the relative frequency response. You can't really use it to compare output between two subs other than comparing the shape of their frequency response. If you look at the SPL graph that will probably give you the results you are looking for.
