noser7 Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Hey guys im gtting to the wiring stage of my build. So far i have 3 runs of "2/0" welding cable. I will be crimping the lugs on. My question is, instead of buying those toolmaker inputs cant i just buy a piece of hollow copper pipe-stick it in the amp input then clamp the other end and connet my lugs to that? Would it being hollow be a big no no?
Karkov Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 I wouldn't. just me... you don't need those toolmaker inputs just stick the wire in the amp and save yourself some copper lugs 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. im_quagmire Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 If you're going to run dual power, why would you skimp on the remainder of the items? Just get the dual lugs and do it correctly the first time. If you are crafty, then build yourself some inputs. I wouldn't, but what do i know?
