2000s-10 Posted April 22, 2008 Report Share Posted April 22, 2008 Hey guys I got a Pioneer eq6500 from a buddy for free. and iv always wanted to try one out and see if it helps at all. but my questions are how do i hook it up? there a red black and 2 blue wires .. now im guessing red is power and black is ground. but wat are the 2 blue wire for? and my second question is .. there is 4 sets of rca's on teh back. one says input. one sayd sub. then the other 2 are front and rear. so does that mean i just run 1 set of rca's from my cd player to the eq then of the eq to my amps ? im gunna be running 2 amps one fer mids/highs and one sub amp. but if u guys think its not gunan be worth my time to hook it up just let me kno. but its seems really nice. its a 9 band, its got the sub controls on it to. any comments are welcome .. thanks alot 1999 grand prix gt kenwood x994 head unit 1/0 big 3 all shok industry single run to the back New mid/highs coming not sure what Soundqubed q2200d at .5 (have) 2 soundqubed hdc3 12s (have) New box to be built.. sealed firing forward (yet to be designed) 200 amp alt not sure exact size or manufactor xs power batts Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

roscoe1129 Posted April 22, 2008 Report Share Posted April 22, 2008 the blue wire are for remote turn on. you take your remote wire from your head unit to one of the ones on the eq and the other goes to your amps. Yes one set of rca's in then run all of the outputs to your amps. I say try it if you dont like it you can always pull it back out. Your gonna loose some deck features using the e.q. like your crossover settings and controls if your deck has them.
