akuma4u Posted June 18, 2016 Report Posted June 18, 2016 Hey, i just bought a genius 3500 smart charger to charge my front and rear AGM batteries my question is this: both front and rear are connected together. The front battery has power and ground wire attached to the posts and also a small power wire for my LED halo headlights. The rear battery has many power and ground wires attached to the terminal / posts. these power wires are going directly from rear battery to amps. And same with the grounds. The rear battery is a top and side post type battery so in total there are 2 + and 2 - posts. The + post has 2 power wires and the 2nd + post has a 4g fuse and distibution block type thing on it. anyhew my question... when i connect the smart charger to the battery, do i have to remove ALL the cables that are attached to the posts? OR can i leave them on and just connect the smart charger? I am worried that if i leave them all on and connect and start charging the battery, it will send current thru the wires and possibly damage amps or blow fuses or damage my led halo lights, etc.. also do i have to charge each battery or , since they are connected, will both batteries be charged at the same time? thank you
