ToNasty
I am somewhat screwed on going optical now. I was going to buy a pioneer 4100 or whatever it was that has optical. And I ended up just picking up an 80prs from a member. MADVIBES
if you were trying to do optical you would open yourself to a can of works so huge it wouldnt make it worth, the chances of finding a deck with optical out is slim, the chances of findind one with optical in is much more likely. This happens to be an area I am very versed in due to my former career in high end home audio. The only way optical is going to benifit you is if you are decoding that digital signal with a better D/A than comes inside your head unit. if it does not you cant justify optical. If you have a digital eq with an optical in and a head unit with an optical out than I would say yes. However you will lose functionality of your vlume control on the head unit and have to rely on the volume control form the digital eq/dsp.
