Gravlin216 Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 My subs cut out on the way to work the last couple days. I've got 2 Fi BL 12s and a Rockford 1500bdcp. They've been installed and fine for a couple years now the only thing I've done different is took the stock grounds out from u Dee the hood so I could pass the engine ground through the battery current sensor. They'll cut out for a couple seconds then turn back on. What can I do to troubleshoot the problem?
boometro Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 test the subs with a DMM and visually check them as well. also what is your gain set to? where is your amp grounded?
Guest Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 since u recently messed with the ground that is your problem. maybe not tightened enough see if you can move it with your body weight give your terminal a good tuggy
Kyblack76 Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 I remember you posting about doing a run through the current sensor. Are you seeing spikes in voltage? If your voltage is bouncing high, that will cause the RF to go into high volt protect. SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold

If your voltage is bouncing high, that will cause the RF to go into high volt protect. I'll pay attention to that on the way home. Do you think it could be because I only have the engine ground going through the sensor? If I connect the chassis ground to the engine ground at the alt bracket would that be the same as splicing it into the middle of the engine ground before the sensor?
Gravlin216 Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Posted July 11, 2016 test the subs with a DMM and visually check them as well. also what is your gain set to? where is your amp grounded?[/quote I set my gain with a dd1 my amp is grounded to the bolt that holds my trunk latch.

I removed stock grounds so I could pass the 1awg through my current sensor but both the stock grounds ran through the sensor before I took them out.
boometro Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 bolt holding your trunk latch is a horrible spot. change to the floor pan and that will be tons better. use your own screws as well.
