happs subi Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Hi, I have this 1996 Corolla with a 160amp alternator, a SCV 2000d, and 2 Sa12 d4's in a ported box I was wondering what my options are as far as powering/wiring? I also have a sony 4 channel amp that i might put in for the door speakers, its something like 300 rms but honestly i dont know if i want to do the extra wiring. I have no other electronics in this car, its a base model. Can I get away with just like a yellow top in front? Thank you, all criticism welcome.
3vil Posted August 10, 2016 Report Posted August 10, 2016 I was wondering what my options are as far as powering/wiring?Well the way I see you really have 3 options. 1. Buy good quality wire that is larger than you need, thus allowing you to easily upgrade amps down the road 2. Get shitty cheapo wire, probably CCA and too small for that amp, then run it and wonder why things aren't working correctly 3. Put the amp and subs in your closet and don't worry installing them

But as far as batter(ies) would i be good with getting something like a yellowtop in front? I dont really understand how much this amp is going to need. I rather not add an extra battery or a massive battery if i dont have to. Too much extra weight for the 1.6L 3 sp auto hahahaha
Rich Schenk Posted August 10, 2016 Report Posted August 10, 2016 O would upgrade Underhood battery to biggest xs power battery that will fit. Do big 4 all in 1/0 off shca. Buy a decent voltmeter and run it to the scv2000d and watch voltage. Our u going to eventually upgrade or no? On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway..... I dont plan on any other upgrades besides maybe the little 4 channel amp for the door speakers. I think what i got already might have been overkill hahaha another quick question though, what gauge wire is meant for SCV2000d speaker output?
happs subi Posted August 11, 2016 Author Report Posted August 11, 2016 Okay, so it looks like I could drop in a d3400, would this be enough? Or should I look at another battery? From what i measured, I have L= 9in but it can go to 10in W= 7in but it could go to 71/2in H= 8in I might be able to squeeze another 1/4 in
happs subi Posted August 15, 2016 Author Report Posted August 15, 2016 Okay, so far I've got a 50ft spool 1/0 ofc from shca, a d3400, bunch of crimp ends, etc.. We'll see how this goes. You guys think the d3400 and 160 amp alt will keep up with the scv2000d and a 4 channel amp?
Rich Schenk Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 I would hook it all up and watch your voltage. But would recommend a battery in the back. Like a d3100 or xp3000 never have enough electrical On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway.....
