Sub selection for small ported box

Realized I had posted in the wrong section lets tey here. I am about to purchase a new flush mount box for my 2013 mustang. Unfortunately the largest I can get the box that fits in my trunk is 2.5 cubic feet. I know for a fact I either want an AA Havoc, or SSA Xcon, now which one would function best in a box that small port tuned to 30hz?

Thinking the Havoc, but also a Fi SSD should do it, I assume you're talking 12"?

First, to adress thia so I don't get the thread locked, this is not meant as a vs thread, just have no clue what works in a box that small, second, yes 12 running off a twisted sounds 1.3k at 1ohm (which they amp dynoyed to right around 1500w rms)

You'd be underpowering either of those subs. I think the Havoc would be right at home in that box, I'd either bump up to 2k in amp, or save some cash and pick up a Chaos or Fi SSD (same build house). Either of those will love 1.5k.

If I was to run a less powerful sub I would be more likely to get an icon or something more in the 1250w range at that point, which now that I look back at it would be a perfect fit for that box and would probably play clean and loud. Looks like when provoked I answered my own question.

Last word, don't put too much faith in power ratings.

All known for being small box subs. I can personally attest to the latter two.

I am just very cautious about power ratings, I have completely fried a sub in the past only pushing something like 200watts over recomended rms, granted it was a cheaper ppi sub, but it was also running on a cheaper mb quart amp with the gains turned down, so I am just cautious.
