welderblake21
I'm not sure there is a way to adjust the gain to the rear channels? Maybe cut the phone volume down but I usually run my phone at 13/15. Maybe turn the equalizer setting down?? It has 80hz,250hz,800hz,2.5k hz, and 8khz. ShadeTreeMechanic
You could check the RCA ground with a meter to be sure that is the problem. Maybe use a solid piece of 16 gauge wire and wrap it around the RCA out in a figure 8 and then put the end under a screw. Or take it all apart and solider. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
welderblake21
I'll just wrap it with wire to see if that fixes the issue. Does the rcas have to be wrapped in wire or just the outputs on the headunit
welderblake21
I'm not sure where or how to check the rca ground with a meter. Where is the ground or what does it look like? Probably be easier to just wrap the wire around it and screw it something
ShadeTreeMechanic
Normally with a test meter the RCA out sheild should have zero ohms to the metal case on the head unit which is ground, indicating that they are connected internally. The quick and easy test without a meter would be to put a wire from the RCA out sheild to the head unit case. No need to do anything to the RCA wire. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
islandpride684
But if you turn the motor off, and just key on the stereo there is no noise? if the noise goes away, when the motor is not running, then the head unit is fine..... in my head. Noise only when running, is a different problem than the pico issue. if the pico let go, there would be noise all the time in my thinking. Yup, you right, if the pico blew noise will be there with engine on or off... 1. Run new RCAs 2. Reground headunit to frame if it hasn't been done 3. Swap out amps 4. Check all connections especially your grounds Report back Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
welderblake21
Headed home now, I'll check all this and update. I cant swap the amp right now other than with a 4 channel pioneer that doesn't have any power. But how would I ground the head unit to the chassis? It's grounded to the wire harness right now

welderblake21
I unplugged the rcas and if I touch or move the rcas while unplugged it makes a ton of noise through the subs
