New to new school wiring

I ordered a wiring harness to install an aftermarket hu in my 12' Malibu. Says the 12v wire is separate and I need to hook it to a fuse in my fuse box from the hu harness. Dude said I just attach it to a 12v accessory fuse, but it has to be the correct prong. Question is which prong is the right prong?

Your going to want to run a PAC with that year malibu. You can get one for around $100 for a simple interface and $150 ish for steering wheel controls. Malibu's suck because the CPU runs thru the the HU and if its not the right PAC you will get check engine codes from what i understand. I tried to run a LC7 of stock HU and got all the chimes amplified so i scrapped the stock HU, got a PAC and new HU. Here are some pics but i forgot the PAC model you will need but i know there are 2 choices and costs.

System with stock HU and LC7.

System with New HU and amp arrangement.

I hope this helps. Not sure what harness adapter you have but i believe unless its a PAC you'll probably have issues.

Does C2R-GM11 sound familiar?

Kinda, Just go to there website and do a search for your year, make & model. It should give you a couple of options and prices.

I did, that's one that came up. Just dont want to go spend an insane amount for a harness that doesn't work so I was jw. But I just found one for $35 so I'll pry try it. Going for a budget system in mine to. Got 2 sundown e8s now but I may switch to 1 sa8 or 1 x8

Did you retain swc with this? And if so did you need to purchase a swi interface aswell or can i do it when just the c2r gm11...instructions are vague at best

wife didnt care about swc so i saved $50 buy not going that route. Dont skimp out on your PAC. It is the most important piece imo. Get the right shit.
