Grounding To Firewall Or Block?

Okay so I heard today from an old cat that instead of bolting your ground from the reg. batt. to the engine block he says its better to bolt your ground to the firewall instead on systems pushing more than 1000w. I may be wrong but it all grounds the same right?

i'd just stick with the engine block...but dont they normally ground batts to the engine body/frame?

Yeah grounding it is grounding it and besides its a much shorter distance than to the firewall (some cars have batt. next to firewall) but i argued with the old timer but i guess he stands by his story
