mycars12
Well Hello, I have been browsing around and saw some pretty neat builds. I was about to buy a prefab box till i stumbled upon a thread that said to build my own instead. After googling the process it doesnt seem to hard but I do need to do make a box. Alright so far I got a soundstream RN1.5000D that I picked up for 152 I got a sundown SA12 D2 Planning on using 0 gauge welding wire Im left with a box now. I want to go ported because from what I have read it performs alot better ported than sealed. I listen to rap/ hip hop mostly. I will get the dimensions of the trunk tomorrow. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. (Edit) Alright took some rough trunk measurements. Width- 35" Height- 15" Depth- 15-19" The box can be those exact measurements or smaller. According to sundown it should be 1.5 to 2.0 ft^3 at 35hz

neuspeedescort
easiest box calculator out there. http://reaudio.com/box.php 35 x 14 x 12 2.25 wide port 24 long port net volume 1.9 tuned to 31ish hz
whazoo84
easiest box calculator out there. http://reaudio.com/box.php 35 x 14 x 12 2.25 wide port 24 long port net volume 1.9 tuned to 31ish hz Use Torres Box Calculator, not RE. RE's calculator isn't always correct on it's measurements. I just did the calculations, man if this was 36 inches wide he'd have exactly 2.01 cubic feet of airspace with that port tuned to 34hz. However, the best bet is to make it 35 x 15 x 12. 2.14 CuFt. and 32.5~ hz.
neuspeedescort
i generally use Torres and RE than average them. i have a couple other website port calculators i mix in also. because in the end a lot of things are dependent on the car it goes in. and cars all different. mycars12
Wow alright. Thanks for all the replies. I'll try and use those programs and mess around with them. I saw the sundown box on Google sketch. I think i might end up building that one. I'll just do a bit more research first. What speaker box terminal you guys think is good? mycars12
Alright. So when I put the dimensions into torres it doesnt give me the port sizes that I would need to get cut. RE amd torres give me different dimensions. Which one should I use? Also RE gives me the port specs when I plug in the 2.25x24 Any suggestions? Any materials or tools I would need?
