David Stone
Hi guys I think I'm going to try and design a box for 4 of these with a slot port. I'm probably going to use the RE box designer and i was just wondering how many inches of port should I use for four of these subs? Or how many inches per sub? Thanks. David Stone
Yeah I don't see port area anywhere on there. Unless it has some name I'm not familiar with. Thanks.

David Stone
So I came up with a box that is external height 23.5 external width 49.5 external depth 16.5 and has an 8 inch port 124 inches of port area. box volume 6.771 tuned to 32.5 hz my plan is to run two sa-12s inverted on the top of the box and 2 mounted on the side of the box facing the front seats in my 05 dakota club cab Does that raise any red flags for any of you guys or does it sound like a decent idea? David Stone
So it is an l port with 10 inches on the second part of the L if that makes sense so 37.5 is the length of the port. I am also playing with the idea of trying to do one long port the width of the box and mounting all subs on top. If I made the box 17.5 deep than I could do a 2.5 inch port that is 48 wide and with an 8.5 inch l it would give me 33.25 port length with 7.45 cubic feet in the box. I will have to measure if I can extend the length a bit so I can make sure there is room to mount 4 12s side by side on the top baffle. Jessica
48X2.5 would be an extremely high ratio and would perform terribly. your port area is going to be dependent on power and cone area. 125 is just a good starting point if you run them at rms. David Stone
It seems like I am having alot of trouble wrapping my head around mounting 4 12s in this space. Would it be much easier to do say two sa 15's. Would It be as loud on equal power per sub? Thanks.
