meade916
more updates.......spinners off the 26's, brakes are all done. Its hard to see the brakes on camera i might have to wait till daylight and see if i can get a good angle. The 26's are so big they dwarf the rotors but those are every bit of 15" I know people still rolling of 15" rims I think it looks good with the spinners although im not into those anymore.......but they were still 26" spinners which is kinda pimp no matter how you look at it. I do think they look sweet without them as well. Its really up to him if he wants to keep them on or not.....so far the vote in the hood is leave em off Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
got some more stuff done this last week with the wiring (after work-work) then put in some hours this weekend making a trim piece for the back. Got more stuff to do to the top (gotta trim it all out) Everything in the back is eventually getting wrapped in suede just like the interior. that was before ^^^^ now i took a saw and cut 1/4" grooves just wide enough to run wire thru so it is all flush. Wires all neat now and ready to be hidden under a trim piece (later) There is 3 LED's (red, blue, green) each has its own wires....so there is 3 sets running thru each groove. meade916
Time to seal the box off once and for all......added (2) 1/2" strips of weatherstripping all the way around doubled up on the screws since a few "spun out" after being put on/taken off too many times. No worries, now its even tighter. time to start framing it out.......freestyle baby Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
here is todays progress...... May seem like the same ol' stuff but its the little things that kill you on time. I spent most of the day sanding the rear peice and fastening the box to the "shroud" that sits in front of it. It took time to seal the cabin from the rear of the truck as well. After that i turned the system on to see how it sounded finally completely sealed off and i noticed the box was flexing in the area of that front "chamber" where all the subs were facing. Well everything i planned had to be put on hold while i fiberglassed the entire top with 3 layers of this super thick mat i usually use. Now its very strong. First things first, had to use these 20ga steel brackets i made at work to hold the shroud firmly against the box. I planned on just screwing it to the front but i couldnt even get my angle drill in there so i had to improvise. Time to start sealing it all off.....damn wires in the way A little strip of foam stuffed into a crevice and dynamatted over Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
i suspected the grooves i carved to run wires thru had contributed to the box flex. They are only 1/4" deep but it had to be a weak spot. I decided to "kitty hair" all the grooves solid and encapsulate the wires into the box for good.......
