Blake21
Gonna try and glue some mdf maybe 1/2" to my roof to stop the flex and noise, planning to use liquid nails or Pl premium construction adhesive , which one would you go with and will this solve my issue with the roof rattling and making noise
ShadeTreeMechanic
Liquid nails isn't what it used to be. I would go with PL. Adding mass to the roof will help. I have seen people cut pieces to fit the roof skin between the braces and then add another big layer over that to tie it all together. I have seen the expanding foam used inside the braces too. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
Blake21
I like that idea, I was gonna try to just piece it in between the braces but If I do it that way I can carpet it or paint it and do away with the headliner and it'll be strong, thanks for the reply
Blake21
How would you go about smoothing it up/tying all the ends together like where itmeets the sides and windshield so it looks clean
ShadeTreeMechanic
I have never done this before but I would assume that the final layer could be cut so it comes close enough to the metal above the windshield that the small gap could be filled in with caulk. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

hdorre
I used Great Stuff, and it holds up fine in this Florida heat. Its a popular option. If I wouldnt have used this, I would have used PL 8x. I LOVEEE that shit.
