Big voltage drop at idle

Recommended Posts

get a hold of mechman about it see what they say, good customer service.

are u at 14 volts while idling and no stereo going?

when u play the stereo it is possible the load on alternator is dropping your idle below the charging rpm of alternator.

my rpms drop like 200-300 almost when really pounding

Yeah. I idle a thing 14.2-14.4 when my subs are turned up even all the way minus 3-4 volume levels.

look into the possibility of your belt slipping also, what size pulley is on the alt?
