Just to let you know my dimensions im building the box 28" wide, 16" high, 20" deep. Port in front but sub on top. Doing an L port i did a 29 inch port overall. Tuning is 31hz, net volume is 2.75 cu ft. Gonna run it on 2200 rms. Anyways i am confused on where to exactly place the sub. Do i directly center it? Put it more towards the opening of the L Port or put it more towards the side wall of the port? I fear of cancellation but idk where i would get more or less cancellation. Any input on my box size would also be helpful. Thanks Forgot to mention, i have a hatchback 2014 focus. Would sub on top port forward be louder or sub forward port foward. I feel like sub foward and port forward would rattle the rear hatch too much. I have not made my circle cut yet so i can choose either
slowfkncar Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 Sub/port placement & box orientation will change output & peak everytime you mess with it, its trial & error you need to see what fits your music habits. Also, its good practice to mount the woofer away from the internal port opening.(side wall of port or centered will work but stay away from the opening)
