audiofanaticz Posted July 19, 2017 Report Share Posted July 19, 2017 IMO a D3400, D7500, and a 270amp alternator is not enough electrical for that amp, especially for extended periods of playtime like you said you are doing. The reserve is just not there unless you add a second D7500, or a second 270 amp alt. Or do both. I have a buddy with that same amp on 3 Fi 15s, he has a Mechman or Singer 270amp alternator (forget which brand), one D3400 under the hood, 2 D3100s in the rear, 4 runs of 1/0 Knukonceptz OFC power wire front to back (2 positive/2 negative), Big 3 wiring done and then some, and also a rear chassis ground. He still has a decent voltage drop to the mid 11volt range when he hammers on it for a little bit. IIRC spec wise two D3100s will out perform one D7500 so his electrical should be a tad bit stronger than yours. So I would imagine your voltage drop is getting pretty low.
