Fareast1738 Posted September 1, 2017 Report Posted September 1, 2017 Seeking some knowledge on a new topic not previously discussed.Been trying to find a fabricator or shop to manufacture a dual alt bracket for a 06 pathfinder and cant seem to find a brackets being sold or manufactured, but was told by an older experienced competitor than i can instal a ignition switch activated motormaul which is just like an alternator. From what i read its used by the CB guys to power their rigs. Fatboy products carry these motormauls ,can someone shed some light on this and if it would work for this application. Some background,i currently have an Ohio Gen 325 amp alt installed and would like this 2nd alt or motormaul to charge 3 80ah jy in the rear.
ShadeTreeMechanic Posted September 1, 2017 Report Posted September 1, 2017 You can't get something for nothing. All this does is take a few batteries and put them in series when the cb mike is keyed. It is adjustable from 12 to 14v and basically gives a higher voltage to the amp for brief periods when transmitting. Might be ok for burps but is not something that can run continuously because it has to charge the batteries that are hooked to it. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
