No impedance reading

Please someone help me. I have a precision power A.15 and it stopped hitting. The voice coil gives and retracts with no sound or any evidence that it's damaged. I'm 99% sure it's a tensile lead underneath the dust cap. Problem is Idk which part is the dust cap. I tried too be gone on the inner ring but it doesn't seem like it wants to separate. And I have looked and looked online but I cannot find schematics for my sub. It's discontinued so parts are impossible to find. And now this thread won't allow me to post a pic yet.

First, the reading you'd see with a DMM is DC resistance, not impedance, so let's call that out correctly.

 

Second, Is the sub dual voice coil? If so, are either of the coils giving reading? If you are getting no DC resistance, you've got a broken connection somewhere. Check tinsel leads for sure.

Oh ok, on the resistance lasson. But yeah, it is a dual VC no reason on  either sidenow my next problem is getting inside the cone.  I tried last night and i thought the dust cap would be the past the shiny ring with the product name. Idk I think I'm just going to take it somewhere Monday and see what they say. But as I said I'm so sure it's a tensile lead I just can't get inside the cone to check.

For the price youll pay to fix it you might as well buy a new subwoofer.

The voice coils could be bad which would cause them to show no resistance, because of a break some place, or burned so badly that they will not show a resistance load.

usually the tinsel leads breaking will show atleast one side with some resistance, but if you are getting none then the voice coil is bad.
