4 8" sub enclosure help/advice

I got the itch to put a system in my car.  I haven't tinkered with car audio since the mid 90's.

I read about these cheap subs that are decent and thought they'd be a fun gateway sub that I'd replace w/a decent pair of 10's (thinking Alpine Type R) when the budget allows.

I'd appreciate any help/advice you guys have for me w/the enclosure.  I've never done a ported box or played w/modeling software before.

Please let me know if you see something I'm screwing up.

4 8" subs in ported enclosure, SVC 4 ohm at 1 ohm w/Pioneer 9601.  HU Pioneer S600BS.  I'm planning on running the crossover from the HU.

However, I do have my old Audio Control EQx (circa 1993) that I'm pretty works still.  Should I use the HU for X-over/DSP or the AC EQx?

I'm leaning towards the HU as I can set the subsonic at 26Hz w/the HU - I'm pretty sure it has the capability to HPF/LPF the sub channel. The

Pioneer amp doesn't have SS filter.

Trunk of a 2006 Avalon, box needs to be removable for vacations, etc.

Vas Litre: 13.762

xmax: ??? - not given but these are cheap subs so maybe 6-8 mm - I used  6 in WinISD.

I modeled it in WinISD and to me it looks best at 4 cubes net tuned to 36 Hz.  With this port area the rear port velocity in under 30m/s

What subs are we talking about? Dont see them listed anywhere

Sorry, Blaupunkt GBW801.

didn't think it mattered b/c I listed the T/S parameters.

OT - How do you like the silver flutes? compared to the 6.5s in the other build?  I have the vifa ring radiator tweets (small versions) and need a mid to go with them

Sorry, not on my computer to run the numbers, but I seem to remember like 1.25 was good for 2 of them... I ordered 5 myself, they only shipped 1 cause they ran out of stock.

Honestly I really like my silver flute/vifa combo. The 8s and provide really good midbass, and sound so smooth. Ran them passive crossed at 2500 I believe. Ran them bridged on my Rockford T400-4 at 4 ohms. Roughly 200-250 rms... and they tried to smoke my amp lol. If cranked way up for too long the amp goes thermal protect... so that combo needs more power. Wanted to run active on 200rms per mid and 150 per tweet.

I'm looking at the 6.5s. Considering the Anarchy's as well but prob need more power than I will have.  I'll be using a Pioneer 8604, so like 100-115 Watts to each speaker.

The other issue is depth.  Think I have 2.5-3", but there are custom adapters that space out 1". I haven't pulled my door card to check the space myself yet.

The other speakers I'm considering are Rockford PPS46.  I know they'll fit.
