Buytl Rubber sheets work for sound deadening

Recommended Posts

A thick foil layer (not the Mylar thin foils being used by some) is what helps trap the vibration waves and proper butyl formula will turn those waves into low level heat waves. Using that foil-less butyl will just add weight to the metal and have minimal affect on the waves but will sound like it did something when you tap.

Here is a chance to win some Damplifier Pro for free...just two easy steps

Use a proper sound deadener instead of trying to piece materials together, it will be much better in the long run.
