CorNut
How much am I missing out on? I finished my enclosure today and I ran an impedance sweep on my DATS v3, it came back as 27.93hz. The sub is a Single Sundown SA 10 v3 @ 1-ohm, amp is a Kicker CXA800.1 (birth sheet says 872 @ 1-ohm). The amp has a fixed 25hz subsonic filter @ 24db. I have no experience with the SA 10, I'm sure I can reach in there and cut out some of the port no problem if it'd be worth it. My net volume is 1.12, right in the middle of Sundown's 1.0-1.25 recommendation. Is it worth the effort? The fixed 25hz subsonic filter has me looking at the bright side, this way the sub is pretty safe but it's not worth it if I'm missing a significant amount of SPL. It still seems impressive for a single 10 but I'm comparing it to a Punch hx2 on the same amp @ 2-ohm, 1cu ft sealed enclosure. It's probably not hard to impress comparing to a 10yr old sub getting half the power.
CorNut
It was tough but worth it. I decided to do it since I knew I'd always wonder what it'd be capable of if I did it, I don't notice any less in the lows but its peak has a better range.
