ehall8702
Hook anything else up to ur amp and see if it plays , if so it's ur sub. Don't have nothing else to hook up to it? Use a 9v and tap speaker wires on terminals of battery. If no click/pop subs either junk or wires aren't hooked up at/inside the box. Push sub in with your hand, if it's crunchy or not smooth voice coils prolly let go. I'm calling toasted sub, if u smelled something day before, most ppl have no clue what distortion sounds like and I've heard ppl banging subs that you can blatently hear sub clacking and they say they don't hear it. 2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears.
