My "Godlike" Gaming PC Build 2023
ehall8702 replied to meade916's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
I love that case , my last 2 builds were in this case. Cable management is super easy, and soo much room. Was a budget build , just for casual use but wanted to do a custom rigid tube loop , was fun and doubled my money when it sold so fun project, but next build will be in same case most likely tho. -
So I only sent one xr back, eBay told me to dispose of second one. I flipped it over and reglued the lower spider to the voice coil tube, on top of old glue joint from factory. Used 2 part CA glue thats used for building speakers, I use it for so many things so I habe sum around usually. Can def tell was manufacturing issue as the spider let go rite where glue stopped. So for shits and giggles I tossed it back into the box I had for 2 of them and blocked off second hole. This is 4 cubes with I think was 72cuin port at 32hz...figured wtf lets see what it'll do. Wired at 1 ohm and its pretty impressive, hasnt come apart yet. So it'll get a proper box built and run it till I can afford to get a monster 18 or 2. May end up selling my tnt 15s or maybe a box for them.

been thinking about 3 or 4 12s12s also, but have done that MANY times in my 27 years of installing, looking to go try something I havent done yet. Thanks tho, bet ur shit slams doesnt it?

I knew sundown would be in the recomendations , personally never owned any but think they are for sure overpriced, atleast for 12s and 15s. Never owned or installed any 18s so have no clue there. Installed MANY 12s and 15s and for the prive there are MANY other options that perform just as well. I'll start reading up on em just bc. Just torn between go with what I know or go into new areas. If it was a b pillar or something that wasnt removable the choice wpuld be ALOT easier. How many friends do I gotta have come over to unload a 6cuft box thats 1.5 thick walls and 2.25 baffled? Lol Nontheless appreciate the input, not wasted time as I way over think everything so u gave me another option to over think!

What would u recommend for a single 18? My intent is just build a box that I can strap on top of my rear seat, not taking rear seat out of this truck and want to be able to take box out IF I need to. The rear doors fold completely backwards and there is no b pillar so its very easy to get a box in and out, except the weight of the box. What brands make a good 18 thats not just a streteched out 15?

I put the xrs on 1000 watts playing 32hz tesr tone for 10hrs in my office....basically overnite the. In box and let full eat. Been doing it for years like that. I have a pair of tnt ( 1500rms each) 15s I can ise top but tryimg to go more.exotic I guess. Singe hd 15 maybe?how would you spend 500 on amp I have and space I have?

So I ordered a pair of AB XR 12s, broke em in with 1000watts with 32hz tone for 12 hrs, then put them in 4 cubes, 72cuin port area @32hz . lasted 6 total hrs and lower spider came apart rite at glue joint. Seller gave me shit, so eBay went good for all of it. Have a jp23 powering them at .5 ohms. Set with my dd1 , 300a alt, posotive and negative runs of 3/0 and 2 wet cell batteries. Either way I'm trying to decide on what to order next. I like trying new stuff out but have always had the best luck with my american bass subs. Thinking a pair of xfls or a single HD. Soundqubed been good to me also. For space I have about 8ish gross cubes.the jp23 is a v1.5 I think, so 2400@1 ohm, made quite a bit more at .5 so probably wanna run 1/2 ohm to help combat rise. I have roughly 4-500 to spend on new subs. Been toying idea sum lesser 10s or 12s but run 4 or 6 of them, but cant bring myself to buy a sub with a stamped basket, have to be cast baskwt or it just feels cheap to me. Ideas or recomemdations appreciated guy ty!

So now I can retune my nvx jad, thanks lol. I only used left channel on front mids and then left channel on front highs. Only used the left input RCA also, unplugged the right altogether , guess I figured headunit was putting out linear output. On a good note, tuning by ear my max volume in my hu was 33, and after using my dd1 it's 36 and got to turn my gains up quite a bit more! Made me have to commit to running my second run of power wire to the md8k tho, can't hold volts with gain set properly, so had to turn gain back down till second run is done.

2/0 Distribution Block?

Try these, cheap and do the job, use any size in/out you want too https://www.ebay.com/itm/171420622015 I used two of em look decent and work well. -
Man, I didn't see this post here till after I saw the notification for emfs reply video about trolling Steve. Dudes outclassed by a long shot lol. I have been using an oscilloscope for almost 20 years , up till about 3 years ago I have had a nice old school radio shack oscope amd it has treated me well, I got a cheapie since I moved to upper MI and I hardly did more than install aftwarket head units and door speakers I couldn't justify a couple hundred bucks on a new one for that . I used my cheapie on my current setup and have toasted a few sets of tweeters and have adjusted gains down to compensate. Needles to say the cheapies r just that , cheap garbage. I will be saving a few bucks and getting atleast a dd-1 for future use! Would love to have the full setup but will settle with the basic but most important in my opinion dd-1 first.

Those things r screaming, was looking at those before I bought my pioneer pros, I think they have to be very similar speakers , u can hear mine a LONG ways away and they still sound good doing it, my last pro audio setups were crazy loud but not smooth at all...these get real loud and have enuff smoothness that u can listen to em all day too. My main reason for buying the pioneers over everything else was they play down to 70hz unlike the rest that are around 120hz. I know it looks like i recorded it with a potato , but it's clear asf and only 250 watts to each door , through a infinity reference xover ( toasted my reference components ). Saving for a dsp and gonna go active soon. -
melted voice coils by dj billy e... gotta love the old stuff once in a while, don't mind the potato I recorded this with though. everytiime I play something longer than 2-3 minutes everyone in my "town" starts calling me and bitching so "demos" are quick and to the point. I live in a "village" with a population of about 150 so everyone in town can hear me when I leave work about a mile away lol
