why when the ZX can only handle 2 ohms? I'm not looking to fry my amp right away, so I'll stay with D2's and keep it at 2 ohms in the amp!

I know the L7s can handle it,  I've owned 8 of them All im saying is that if he isn't seriously into competing stick to DVC2. If he ever gets into serious SPL he can change to DVC4.

If he gets DVC 4 and they blow he's going to come onto here saying why it blew. :-

It took A LOT of abuse to blow 2 l7's @ 1 ohm, plus they wer in 6.5 cubes a piece.

Why soo much airspace? The 15"s are suggested 6.0cubes, max.

then why not take the 2 - 2 ohm DVC's  and put both down to 1 ohm then put them both at .5 ohm????? Wouldn't that make more sense? :-[

and come to think about it, only one of em blew.  The otha 1 got the wall socket .

Anyways, we sent em back, and got 4 cvr 15's plus a credit.

What do you mean? Put them down to 1ohm then to .5ohm? You can't combine two DVC 2 subs and get a 1ohm load sharing the same amp. :-
