SteelCityGhost
did that maybe I gave you the wrong settings who knows Ill just go back to the money pit and let them asses tune it again tomorrow Lol, just takes time man. Don't be in a hurry. If you turn the dial slowly on the frequency knob, you should be able to tune it by ear. Just listen for what you want it to sound like, then boom, there you go. jonathancullen89
on my kenwood deck (edit sorry i put amp lol) i have the bas to -2, mid to -1 and high to 0. i wish i could be there to hear, because i didnt catch exactly you do not like. first i heard that your high's are harsh now you dont like the subwoofers. like sum1 said unplug the subs, tune the mids/highs to where they sound good for you. when you are happy plug the subs back in and tune them, dont turn the gain up all the way!!!! if your installer is good they set the gain right so dont mess with it. turn the cossover frequency to about 100hz (those mids should be handling everything down to probably like 80hz with eez) and turn up the bass boost till you like it. if you hear distortion that isnt good, turn the bass boost down or adjust your listening volume. i have never had a kicker subwoofer have a problem, some of them i have seen have taken a massive beating were other subs would have blown (gain turned up all the was, BB on HU and amp all the way up) and they still worked after a week of the dumb kid beating on them. IMO the shop you are going to is ripping you off, if you dont like the way the system sounds they should not be charging you ontop of what they already have (i may be wrong im sketchy on the details) but more expensive stuff isnt always better if it isnt tuned properly. best of luck to you Edited May 13, 2008 by jonathancullen89 Quote 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-
