Trunk Lid Mounted Speakers - Off When Closed?

When speakers (components/coaxials not subs) and/or displays are mounted on the underside of a trunk lid, are they typically turned off when the trunk is closed, or are they left running? Always been curious about that since they're usually there for people outside the vehicle.

depends on how much effort was taken when doing the install really.  im sure there are some cheaper installs out there where everything is still running, but a simple limit switch in the right place could easily kill all power or signal to the trunk mounted components
