FineVisionz Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 So i've made a custom box for my 12in kicker compr and i'm trying to figure out what's the best way to mount the subwoofer to it. I've read that just using a dry wall screw can sometimes result in it loosening up by itself or even striping. After doing some research i've found a few options, tee nuts and wood thread inserts. What's a good option and what size's do I need. Thanks!
1point21gigawatts Posted August 14, 2020 Report Posted August 14, 2020 Drill pilot holes and use 2” course drywall screws. What you read isn’t accurate when it comes to subwoofer enclosures, especially with a subwoofer that small. When using super heavy subwoofers and if they are mounted inverted on the front of an enclosure then you would use spax screws. But for that small subwoofer, course drywall screws are good. Don’t believe the hype or look for negative outcomes and dwell on it. Listen to reason and look for positivity and the answer will find you with a beneficial outcome.
