DuaneA803 Posted September 7, 2020 Report Posted September 7, 2020 About to put in a mechman 240 amp alt in a 2011 Tahoe LT with a 5.3 ltr anyone off the top of their head know what the length difference will be on the serpentine belt... got a super busy week at work this week and this could save me a bit of time when getting started on the truck next weekend
1point21gigawatts Posted September 7, 2020 Report Posted September 7, 2020 0.5”-1” smaller, depending on the difference in diameter of the alternator pulleys. What’s the measurements of the diameter of your stock alternator pulley and the diameter of that mechman alternator pulley? “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
DuaneA803 Posted September 7, 2020 Author Report Posted September 7, 2020 Not sure off the top of my head but I did catch a video on YouTube that definitely simplified the process in comparison to what mechman had posted on their site ... it's been a big game of catch up after about a 10 year hiatus from car audio ..I also found a review of the alternator by a guy with a 2010 Silverado that included the belt size and as far as I can tell that should be the same as my Tahoe
