Other than the vol on the unit it has an internal gain setting that goes up to 35 and is currently set at 20. When tuning my amp I did it at 75% vol wich is 30 out of 40 on my hu. Would I have to max out internal (hu gain) in order to properly tune my hu or would internal gain at 20 actually give me head room before clipping? Also my amps are tuned at 30 vol, let's say I find that I can go to 35 on the hu before clipping, would I then have room to turn amp gain up more or would I have to back off the amp gain because my hu vol is now higher?
