brazilanlittlebass Posted December 24, 2021 Report Posted December 24, 2021 I'm new to box design and construction, I ended up reading some articles and found some coherent information, but without the help of some experts it's very difficult to know if I'm on the right track, I'm building a system with 1 15 inch subwoofer dual coil 2+2 ohms with a maximum power of 2000rms I'm going to use a soundstream module lw3 2600.1, my space is limited as it is a hatchback car, the box is already in the maximum measurements that my vehicle allows. I need tips on resonant frequency, total port area, length, airspeed, impedance and so on, thanks to everyone.
Joe X Posted December 28, 2021 Report Posted December 28, 2021 briefly your vent airspeed needs to be below 30 m/s, your cone excursion needs to be within Xmax and car sub enclosures rarely need to be tuned below 30Hz due to cabin gain, higher tuning shorter port length. If you would like more in depth help post in the subs/enclosures section, the exact model of the sub, amp, the model of the vehicle and the max dimensions for a box.
