slaughter
I'm looking to do a 4th order blowthrough with 2 Sundown X v3 15s. For the box, do you start with the sealed or ported section first? And what do you base that area off of? Any help is appreciated, Thanks I also have the design from my old box with 2 DC XL 15's. Do you think that 3.7 sealed is enough for the 2 sundowns? I know DC subs like the smaller boxes so I wasn't sure. Joe X
The volume of the rear chamber starts at what the sub manufacturer specifies, the front chamber starts at twice that and tuning starts at the sealed resonance of the rear chamber, port area of the front chamber should be enough for a vent airspeed <20 m/s. From there you use modeling software to setup to your preference, power, etc. There are some other considerations but we will save those for another day.
