F250 console enclosure

Built an enclosure for an American Bass 12 xmax sub, dual 2ohm. Would it sound better aiming the sub down with a 4" aero port facing back or the sub facing back? The console is in a F250.

What stands out is that a single 4" port is insufficient port area for that sub, you will experience loss of output and probably port noise at high output levels.

Thanks for responding. What would you have done? I have another 4" that can be added. I thoight 1 4" was probably insufficient.

Port area depends mainly on box size and power, assuming rated power of 3500WRMS and a box 2 cubic feet net you would need some 40 square inches of port area (more than 2 4" ports). Also sub clearance to the floor seems rather low. So try to mod this box to improve it and to learn what works best for you and if you need a new one you will know what needs to be done.
